VENMAR SPECIALIST HRV SYSTEMS FOR INDOOR SWIMMING POOLS

Indoor swimming pools continuously produce large quantities of chlorine laden water vapour through the process of pool evaporation.

The effects of this evaporation are magnified by the fact that the construction industry keeps building more energy efficient tighter structures.

When water vapour has no escape from these air tight structures, it causes numerous problems such as:

  • rust,
  • blistering of paint,
  • deterioration of structural supports
  • and many other negative comestic effects on your building.
As a result repair or replacement of damaged items can be very costly and time consuming.

Patrons and staff of indoor pools must also endure an unpleasant environment. They are surrounded in the physical discomfort of high humidity. The mould, mildew, bacteria and fungi that grow in these moist conditions can effect their health. These growths give off low-molecular weight volatile organic compounds (VOCs), many of which are poisonous and have potent odours.

So, the solution comes in finding a way to remove the moisture from the indoor environment. By using a Venmar Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), humidity and all other problems and discomfort associated with it are eliminated. The added bonus of the HRV compared to conventional dehumidification is that fresh air is constantly being brought into the building and you can reduce operasting costs by up to 70%.

Venmar offers this cost-effective solution due to the system design which recovers energy and condensate from the exhaust airstream. The energy is transferred to the supply fresh air stream and the condensate is returned to the pool. With conventional systems this energy and condensate would be lost. Therefore, it is more cost-effective to dehumidify and use energy recovery than dehumidifying without energy recovery.

Dehumidifying without energy recovery requires complex refrigeration units or a regenerative wheel system, both of which have high operating costs and high initial purchase prices. The Venmar heat recovery systems are more cost competitive when initially purchased and cost less to operate.

Venmar Heat Recovery Ventilator HRV700i

The Venmar HRV700i is designed specifically for removing excess humidity out of indoor spaces such as pools or areas that have high levels of corrosive chemicals.

Designed for extreme environments, this model features a fully powder coated cabinet, inside and out, with full floor ABS drain pans. In addition, fan housings are powder-coated and custom designed motors are fully enclosed with stainless steel shafts. The HRV700i with its over-sized heat exchanger, is the solution for light commercial, corrosive or humidity control applications.
