"Danger - Home Renovations Could Make Your Child Sick"

Professor Olf Herbarth, of the University of Leipzig, told the recent 2003 International Society for Environmental Epidemiology Conference in Perth, that exposure to chemicals found in paint, floor coverings and new furniture during the last months of pregnancy or the first year of life could lead to the development of asthma, eczema, allergic rhinitis and other allergic symptoms.

Renovations: toxic for baby?

" Dr Dingle says the advice for parents wanting to renovate for a new baby is to get in early. If you are painting or redecorating, remember to air the room. "The simplest message in any situation is open the doors and windows," Dr Dingle said. "The outside air is much, much better than the air inside."
